The practice of issuing “sticker” and “stamp-type” visas at the borders will be replaced by electronic visa (e-Visa) on 10 April 2014 enabling visa applicants to obtain their visas online.

For those who wish to obtain their visa on arrival, sticker and stamp-type visas will still be available until 10 April 2014.

Australian citizens travelling to Turkey may apply for e-Visa through www.evisa .gov.tr at least 24 hours before their departure.

Please note that e-Visa is only valid when the purpose of travel is tourism or commerce. For other purposes, such as work and study, visas will be issued by Turkish Embassies or Consulates.
