Press Release Regarding the Disruption of Cease-fire Negotiations between Israel and Palestine
No: 273, 20 August 2014
We are deeply saddened and concerned by the interruption of the cease-fire negotiations conducted in Cairo between the delegations of Israel and Palestine.
Lasting peace and calm can only be achieved through a fair and negotiated compromise. With this understanding, we hope that both sides will resume substantial negotiations without delay in order to reach a cease-fire which will fulfill the rights and demands of the Palestinians.
Turkey will continue to work in coordination with other international partners for the establishment of a sustainable cease-fire.
