Mr. Antonio Guterres, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, will pay an official visit to Turkey on 5-7 January 2015 upon the invitation of H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, to address the Seventh Ambassadors Conference.

During his visit, Mr. Antonio Guterres will be received by President H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister H.E. Ahmet Davutoğlu, and he will hold bilateral talks with H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Efkan Ala, Minister of Interior and Dr. Fuat Oktay, Head of the Disaster and Emergency Administration (AFAD).

The visit will contribute to the strengthening of the ongoing cooperation between the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Turkey, which hosts nearly two million Syrians.
