Press Release Regarding the Suicide Attack in the Pakistani City of Peshawar

We have learned with great sorrow that as a result of the suicide attacked perpetrated against a Shia mosque in the Pakistani city of Peshawar during Friday prayers today (13 February), 19 people lost their lives and more than 50 were injured according to initial reports.

We strongly condemn this heinous attack aiming at the stability and security of Pakistan, and on the occasion of this painful incident, we express once again our strong feelings of solidarity with the friendly and brotherly Government and the people of Pakistan. We wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives in the attack, extend our condolences to their families, and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.

On this occasion, we reiterate our conviction that the instigators of this attack will not achieve their goal of dragging Pakistan into instability and reaffirm that Turkey will maintain its solidarity with brotherly Pakistan.
