The decision of the Belgian Chamber of Indictment today (8 March), preventing the launch of the prosecution process by the Federal Prosecutor of Belgium regarding 36 PKK-linked individuals and legal entities is unacceptable.

Despite the evidence submitted by the Federal Prosecutor of Belgium on the PKK’s terrorist nature, this decision, as it stands, provides the terrorist organizations with a very dangerous area of exploitation.

It is possible to appeal against the decision in the Belgium Court of Appeals. Turkey will continue its legal fight determinedly.

We expect our ally Belgium to act in line with counter-terrorism responsibilities and take necessary steps in the fight against the PKK terrorist organization in an effective manner.
