QR-17, 23 March 2019, Statement of the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hami Aksoy, in Response to a Question Regarding the Repeated Statements by the Czech President Miloš Zeman About Turkey

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 23.03.2019

We observe with with great regret that Czech President Milos Zeman continues his defamatory and false statements targeting our country. It is obvious that these statements, which do not serve any purpose, cannot be based solely on lack of knowledge and a shallow point of view. The persistence of these unfounded slanders reflects a purely malevolent approach. Not only does this not befit the office he occupies, but is also unfortunate for our friends, the Czech people he represents.

Such unfounded claims against a country at the forefront of the fight against DAESH, that has taken its troops directly to the field and had martyrs during the fight, only exposes the weakness of the owner of the slanders. It is a shame that those who cannot be at the forefront of this fight, pontificate and slander from afar targetting our country. Nobody has the power to defame our country, which has the biggest part in fight against DAESH, with slanders lacking wisdom and intelligence.
